General questions

When and how will I receive my full offer letter?
If you are selected for an offer at Christ's, on 25 January (decisions day), we send a brief email just to let you know our decision (that we are making you an offer). Congratulations! The email will confirm your course and entry year. Your offer is subject to a range of conditions, which are set out in your (long and formal) offer letter from the Director of Admissions. You will receive this offer letter and further enclosed documents in a separate email. There will be a delay after your email on 25 January before you receive your offer letter and enclosures on a later date, as these take time to prepare, check, sign and email out. Please see the updates below. Please wait to receive your offer letter for further information about your offer.

  • Upates -
Thurs 27 Jan, 10:45. We've sent 45% of the offer letters so far....
Thurs 27 Jan, 11:37. We're sending a lot today and estimate that we'll be up to over 90% by the end of the day....
Thurs 27 Jan, end of day...Hurray we're over 95%. Sorry to those with a bit of extra paperwork - we'll get yours sent as soon as we can once we have it.

Whilst you are waiting for your offer letter, please take time to enjoy the news, and if you really want to read things there is a lot of information in the offer holders section about what will happen whilst you are an offer holder. The offer holders section is the main way that we support you whilst you are holding a Christ's offer. As ever, there will be paperwork and deadlines to meet! We will do our best to support you from January until you start your course. For now, though, WELL DONE!

Top tip: don't worry about how other Colleges organise things - we'll give you the information relevant to you as a Christ's offer holder in this offer holders section.

When will my UCAS account update to show my offer?
If you're a new offer holder your UCAS account should update at the end of the month or at the beginning of February. Again, we'll update you here if there's any further info on timing - a bit difficult to predict exactly as it does take us time to enter and check all of the information.

Can I visit the College as an offer holder?
Yes, if you can get to Cambridge (we realise that this is not possible for all of you). We are open for self-guided visits during the opening hours. Please read the self-guided visits page carefully for info and to avoid disappointment as there are occasional closure dates etc. For now we're inviting you to join us for one of the webinars (sign up link sent in your decision email / offer updates for deferred offer holders), if this is helpful.

I noticed on my offer letter it said the Engineering course was a 3-year course with the option of completing a 4th year to upgrade from a BA to a MEng. However on the Cambridge website the engineering course is only available as a 4 year course.
All offers for Engineering (across the whol
e university) are given for three years and then, as it says below the table ‘subject to satisfactory academic performance, you may undertake a further year of study for the MEng or MSci degree resulting in a course of four years of study in total’. There is no other kind of offer for Engineering.

Questions specific to international students

Can I apply for both the Cambridge Commonwealth, European and International Trust Awards AND the Christ's College International Awards?
Yes. If you need them we encourage you to apply for both. It is possible to be awarded both a Cambridge Commonwealth, European and International Trust Award and a Christ's College International Award. At the moment, we are only sending an email about the Cambridge Commonwealth, European and International Trust Awards because you need to make the application now (by 11 February). We will email about the Christ's College International Awards when applications open (a little later). See the offer holders finances section for more detail.

When will I get an email about the Cambridge Commonwealth, European and International Trust Awards?
After you've got either your offer letter or your offer update (if your offer is deferred from last year), so probably end of Friday 28 Jan, if not before.

I am uploading my IELTS / TOEFL score report. Do I need to also get an original sent to you at Christ's?
No - please only upload the score report. Please don't try to send us an original (you only need to do the things we've asked you to do).

There is no language test requirement listed in my offer letter, but on the offer holder section webpage it says that every offer holder should send every sitting of their test results. I would like to know that whether I still need to send all of them.
Yes, you do need to send any English Language test results (IELTS Academic, TOEFL etc.), whether or not you have an English Language condition as part of your offer. Details about how to send them are on the English Language page.
