Christ's College Cambridge and Lincoln College Oxford have teamed up to offer a series of events for schools in our Lincolnshire, North-East Lincolnshire and North Lincolnshire Link Areas.  These events are targeted at Sixth Form students in the county.  Each event consists of two sessions: an applications and interview workshop for Year 13 students applying to Oxbridge and an introduction to Oxbridge for Year 12s, which includes advice about how to prepare during this year to apply to highly-selective universities.

These events are this year taking place online during the autumn term of 2021.  You can find full details and information about how to book places below (please note that individual students will need to book for themselves this year). This event has now passed.

Teachers in the Greater Lincolnshire area (including North and North East Lincs) are encouraged to sign up to our Teacher Mailing List, so that we can notify you both of future iterations of this event, and other opportunities for your pupils.

Dates for 2022 will be decided for the start of the 2022-23 academic year. The information from 2021 below is available to give you an idea of what to expect.

We have tried to find times to suit all parties involved; if students are not sure if they can make the session we strongly recommend that they still sign up so they can receive links and resources sent out after the sessions.

What do the events involve?

For Year 13s: Tackling nerves head on, we'll provide insight into the interview process, how to prepare, and will go through some interview questions and the kinds of thinking and response that can help students to do well at interview. We will also be joined by some current students in relevant subjects at Oxford and Cambridge to give their perspectives on the process.

For Year 12s: This will introduce them to the universities of Oxford and Cambridge and explain what they can offer, whilst breaking down some of the barriers that might stand in the way of students applying. It will also include detailed advice and guidance about how to prepare during Year 12 to make a competitive application to highly-selective universities, such as Oxbridge and the Russell Group.

All events will be a webinar on Zoom - we won't be using cameras or microphones, but there will be a chat and Q&A box for you to ask questions or contribute to any discussion.

How to book places

Places are limited for each event and are available only to maintained sector (non fee-paying) schools from the colleges' Link Area. Though in previous years schools have been able to book on behalf of their students, students must book themselves on individually this year due to the online nature and timing of the sessions, as they will need to be sent details directly.

This event has now passed.

The deadlines to apply for a place are as follows:

  • Year 12 sessions - 5pm on Friday 29th October
  • Year 13 sessions - 5pm on Wednesday 3rd November

Applying before the deadline will guarantee that you receive the joining details before the webinars begin. Late applications are not guaranteed to receive the joining details in time.

Arrangements on the day

Each event will start at the time advertised above, so attendees should make sure they are ready to begin a couple of minutes before the start time so we can start promptly.

Once you have booked, we will be in touch closer to the time with the necessary links and other information for your session.

We look forward to hosting you!
