Public Access to the Old Library and Exhibition

College members and members of the public are welcome to visit the Old Library in order to enjoy the space and view the current exhibition.

The Old Library is normally open to the public on Tuesdays  and Thursdays, 2:00pm to 4:00pm, during Michaelmas and Lent terms. Term dates can be found here. During the university's summer vacation we are normally also open on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 2:00pm to 4:00pm. Building work in College has meant that the Old Library was closed for much of July 2019; but from Tuesday 6 August we expect to open on Tuesdays and Thursdays as usual. Even so, it might be worth checking with us ahead of time if you are travelling from a distance -- please telephone 01223-334950 or 01223-334905 for assistance.

Visitors are also welcome at other times by appointment. Please email library@christs.cam.ac.uk to arrange access.

Please note that the Old Library is on the 1st floor of the College. If you have difficulty in climbing stairs, or are in a wheelchair, it would be helpful if you would contact us in advance  -- on 01223-334950 or 01223-334905 -- to let us know about your visit. This is because, unfortunately, wheelchair access is not currently available due to the College building works, which are likely to continue throughout August and September 2019
