Subscribing to the DBS Update Service:

The DBS Update Service is an optional online service which we recommend, where you can host the results of your Disclosure Certificate and the DBS will automatically keep your results updated. If you have a subscription, you will not need to apply for another DBS check as long as your existing certificate remains current. The Update Service costs £13.00 per year.

If you subscribe to the Update Service third parties can, with your permission, view the status of your check. If you maintain your subscription, this will be useful for potential employers in future. If you choose to subscribe to the Update Service, you must do so within 14 days of receiving your Disclosure Certificate. Third parties cannot run the Update Service without seeing your original certificate first
