Christ’s College is committed to admitting students of the highest intellectual potential, irrespective of social, religious or financial considerations and to encouraging applicants from under-represented backgrounds. We are also committed to providing resources and information to schools which do not have a history of sending students to Cambridge and would like to do so in the future. To achieve these aims, we are engaged in a number of different access and outreach initiatives.

Covid-19 updates for teachers

At Christ's there is a page for students on Covid-19 disruption and applying this year. The university also has information here and a set of Frequently Asked Questions.

If you are a teacher, careers advisor or other relevant staff member and would like to receive updates and information about events over the academic year, sign up to receive our teacher emails (open to all teachers). Many thanks!

Working with Schools and the University Area Links Scheme

The Area Links Scheme enables the Cambridge colleges to build effective, coherent relationships with schools and colleges across the UK by matching every area of the country with a specific contact point at the university. You can find out more about the Area Links Scheme at this website.

As part of the Cambridge University Area Links Scheme, Christ’s College carries out access work within the following areas:

  • Lincolnshire
  • North Lincolnshire
  • North East Lincolnshire
  • County of Herefordshire
  • Worcestershire
  • The London Borough of Harrow
For information about support available to Christ's College Link Area schools, please see the Support for Schools page.

Working with Access Charities

In addition to this regionally-based work, Christ's College also maintains a strong relationship with educational outreach charities such as IntoUniversity and The Brilliant Club. Through our sponsorship of IntoUniversity's Walworth centre and facilitation of visits to Christ's for both charities, we aim to support the fantastic work they do.

Supporting Students

Through our link schools and other initiatives, Christ's College is in regular contact with hundreds of high-attaining students from all over the UK.  We offer a range of support for Sixth Form students from UK state schools to help them to prepare to apply to top universities during Year 12 and then a range of guidance for the application process in Year 13.  For further information and to sign-up to our student support initiatives, please see the Support for Students page.

HE+ Project

HE+ is a collaborative project between the University of Cambridge and its Colleges, working together with groups of state schools and colleges in 18 regions of the UK.  At Christ's College, our HE+ consortia are based in our Link Areas of Herefordshire and Worcestershire. For further information about our HE+ scheme, please see the HE+ section of our website.

Outreach Events

In addition to individual school visits, we also run a number of wider outreach events every year that provide an opportunity for students to visit the college.
