When is the Library open to researchers?

Researchers are welcome to consult our collections on Mondays-Fridays between 9:15am and 4:15pm, by appointment.

What research collections do you have?

Please visit The Library Collections and/or The Archival Collections to find out more about our material.

What arrangements do I need to make to research an item from your Library?

Please contact the Librarian, John Wagstaff (djw210@cam.ac.uk), giving at least one week’s notice if possible. If you know the shelfmark(s) of the item(s) that you wish to consult, do please let us know. On your arrival, we will ask you to complete a reader registration form.

Can I take/ can you supply photographs of the material?

We normally allow self-service (non-flash) photography for non-commercial research purposes.

If requested, we are able to provide photographs for a fee (please email library@christs.cam.ac.uk for more details). This is by far your best option if you want very-high-resolution images, perhaps for publication in a book or journal article.
