After you have made your UCAS application, you will receive an email with the log-in details for an additional questionnaire called the SAQ (Supplementary Application Questionnaire). This is because we do not write the UCAS questions and will need additional information from you for your Cambridge application.

In all cases, the SAQ can only be worked on after your UCAS application, so focus on that first (though do read about the things to be prepared for in advance).

Your SAQ deadline depends on which interview scheme you are applying for.

  • The SAQ deadline is 27 September 2021 (18:00 UK time) for students applying for GMT+7 international interviews
  • The SAQ deadline is 22 October 2021 (18:00 UK time) for students applying for the Cambridge remote interviews or other international interviews that are not part of the GMT+7 scheme.

Things to be prepared for in advance

In most cases, you will need to have a transcript saved on your computer as a pdf which you will be asked to upload in one of the additional questionnaire questions. It can take time to get hold of your transcript so do make sure you prepare for this in advance so that you have the pdf saved ready. The information is in the link.

One of the questions will ask you about where you would like to be interviewed. Please ensure that you have read the international  interviews page and checked your eligibility and the interview dates for your chosen location before you select it on the additional questionnaire. Note that the list of interview locations is reviewed each year and published on the international interviews page by July.

Fee

Note that there is a fee of £60 to pay when you complete the SAQ from outside the UK, Ireland and the Crown Dependencies (the Channel Islands and Isle of Man). You will be asked to pay this fee by debit or credit card when you submit your SAQ. There are fee waivers available for students from some countries. You'll find a list of the coutnries this applies to at the bottom of this page.

Help with the SAQ

There is guidance on the Cambridge Admissions website to help you complete the SAQ - see Competing the SAQ and FAQs. The Guide to completing the SAQ is particularly useful and there is an SAQ helpdesk to contact with any questions you have whilst completing the form:

SAQ Helpdesk
Email saqhelp@admin.cam.ac.uk
(please don't email us at Christ's with questions on how to complete the SAQ - much better to contact the SAQ helpdesk)
